In unserer nächsten Veranstaltungsreihe wollen wir uns mit Utopien auseinandersetzen und an kritische Analysen aus bereits stattgefundenen Veranstaltungen mit Überlegungen zu Handlungsmöglichkeiten anschließen. Zeitlich soll die Reihe zwischen April und Juni 2025 stattfinden und ein möglichst breites Spektrum an Veranstaltungen bieten. Wir wollen dieses mal neben Screenings, Vorträgen und thematischen Workshops auch (wieder) kreative Formen anbieten und vor allem literarischen Texten und eigenem Schreiben, Kartieren und Basteln mehr Raum geben.
Wenn ihr selbst Ideen, Formate oder Anregungen habt, meldet euch gerne via Mail oder PM. Ihr könnt euch gerne als Gruppe oder auch als Einzelperson melden. Wenn ihr Ideen habt, aber noch nie etwas organisiert habt, supporten wir auch gerne bei der Konzeption und/oder nehmen den Input für unsere Planung auf. Gelder werden wir beantragen, sobald wir eine ungefähren Überblick über die Veranstaltungen haben – wir würden uns um die Finanzierungen kümmern.
Bei unseren ersten Brainstormings haben wir bereits an Themen wie Reproduktionsgerechtigkeit, bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen, Formen des Zusammenlebens, Kartieren von utopischen Räumen, Solar-Punk, spekulatives Schreiben oder auch Alternativen zu Nationalstaat und Grenzen gedacht. Wenn euch etwas davon anspricht oder ihr bereits konkrete Formate im Kopf habt, meldet euch!
Uns geht es vor allem darum, über die kritischen Analysen hinaus Handlungsmöglichkeiten und Utopien zu entwickeln. Diese wollen wir gemeinsam mit einem intersektionalen Ansatz, also einem Blick, der verschiedene gesellschaftliche Vor- und Nachteile von einzelnen Menschen auf dem Schirm hat, ausarbeiten. Wir wollen wieder ein buntes Programm zusammenstellen, in dem (Theorie-)Wissen, Kreativität und Miteinander Platz finden.

Das Buchprojekt Feminist Utopia umfasst 57 Visionen unterschiedlicher Feminist*innen, die sich eine „unglaublich bessere Zukunft“ vorstellen.
In Berlin findet vom 25.05.2024 – 15.06.2024 eine partizipative Ausstellung des Netzwerk Feminist City Utopia statt.
Hier findet ihr unter anderem einen Artikel zu Utopien als Form des Erzählens von Möglichkeiten und damit als Teil progressiven Handelns.

In our upcoming series of events, we want to explore utopias and build on critical analyses from events that have already taken place with reflections on possible courses of action. The series will take place between April and June 2025 and will offer as broad a spectrum of formats as possible. This time, in addition to screenings, lectures and thematic workshops, we also want to offer creative forms (again) and above all give more space to literary texts and your own writing, crafting, and mapping.
If you have any ideas, formats or suggestions, please get in touch via email or PM. You are welcome to get in touch as a group or as an individual. If you have ideas but have never organized anything before, we will be happy to support you with the concept and/or take your input into account for our planning. We will apply for funding as soon as we have a rough overview of the various formats – we would take care of the financing.
In our first brainstorming rounds, we have already come up with topics such as reproductive justice, unconditional basic income, forms of community life, mapping utopian spaces, solar punk, speculative writing and alternatives to the nation state and borders. If any of this speaks to you or you already have specific formats in mind, get in touch!
Our main aim is to go beyond critical analysis and develop possibilities for action and utopias. We want to develop these together and employ an intersectional approach, i.e. a view that takes into account the various social advantages and disadvantages of individual people. Once again, we want to put together a varied program in which there is room for (theoretical) knowledge, creativity and togetherness.

A participatory exhibition by the Feminist City Utopia network will take place in Berlin from 25.05.2024 – 15.06.2024.

PROTEST – Wem gehört die Straße? Feministische Sichtweisen auf Protest(formen)

Sozialproteste, also gemeinsam auf die Straße getragene Unzufriedenheit und/oder Widerspruch mit bestimmen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen oder politischen Entscheidungen, treten gegenwärtig weltweit in verschiedensten Ausprägungen auf und tragen unterschiedlichste Forderungen mehr oder weniger laut nach außen. Ob es dabei um Forderungen nach mehr Demokratie und Menschenrechten, größerer sozialer Gleichheit, umfassenderen Klimaschutz, Corona-Politik oder Frieden geht, gemeinsames Kennzeichen ist ihr Wunsch nach Veränderung bzw. Überwindung der bestehenden Verhältnisse. Aktuelle Protestbewegungen im Iran, in China, in Südamerika, in Deutschland und dem Rest der Welt machen vor Landesgrenzen nicht Halt. Protestformen, die in vielen Teilen der Welt Zuspruch finden und dort übernommen werden, wie z.B. aktuell vor allem ökologische[1] und feministische[2] Bewegungen, versuchen weltweit Ausbeutung, Gewalt, Diskriminierung und Vernichtung zu stoppen.

Wir wollen gemeinsam erkunden, wie solche Protestformationen vor dem Hintergrund kapitalistischer Produktionsverhältnisse[3], demnach wie die Herstellung und Organisation von Gütern und Dienstleistungen in unserer Gesellschaft aufgeteilt ist, verstanden werden: Welche Proteste sind hierbei gekennzeichnet durch ein ‚zu viel gleichzeitig und zu unkoordiniert‘ oder ein ‚zu wenig und zu leise‘? Welche Rolle soll und muss Protest auf der Straße einnehmen? Welche Bedeutung spielen hierbei Institutionen wie Parlamente? Und wie müssen wiederum Proteste von rechts bzw. aus autoritären und demokratiefeindlichen Milieus verstanden werden? Bieten aktuelle Sozialproteste genug Vorstellungkraft und demokratische widerständige Energie, um den aktuellen Kriegs- und Krisensituationen eine utopistische Gegenvision, also ein Idealbild einer gerechten Gesellschaft, entgegenzusetzen? Solchen Fragen und vielen mehr bietet die kommende Veranstaltungsreihe des AK Feministische Theorien einen Raum zum Nachdenken, Nachfragen, Diskutieren und in Aktion kommen.

Habt ihr Lust Euch mit einem Thema/Format Eurer Wahl zu beteiligen? Dann schickt uns bis zum 31.12.2022 eine Nachricht, in der ihr Euren geplanten Veranstaltungstitel, Thema, Ablauf und Finanzbedarf darlegt (gerne in Form eines Ankündigungstextes, es reicht aber auch eine ganz kurze Skizze, die ihr später noch ausarbeiten könnt). Wir, der AK Fem – Arbeitskreis für feministische Theorie und Praxis – kümmern uns dann im weiteren Verlauf um die Organisation, Bewerbung und Finanzierung der Veranstaltungen. Die Veranstaltungsreihe soll im Zeitraum vom 15. April bis 15. Mai 2023 stattfinden.

Bisher in Planung sind schon Beiträge zu How-To Protest: Eine Anleitung und Austausch zum Anmelden und Durchführen von Demos; ein Lesekreis zu Demokratie und Teilhabe; ein Kapitalismuskritik-Workshop, eine Veranstaltung zu Klimaaktivismus und Klimagerechtigkeit; ein Beitrag zu den aktuellen Protesten in China und ein Workshop zu Streetart als Protestform. Wenn euch eines der Themen auch interessiert, könnt ihr auch gerne in die Planung dazu kommen.

Call for Participation: Event Series of the AK Fem – Arbeitskreis für feministische Theorie und Praxis from April 15 to May 15, 2023 on the subject of

PROTEST – Whose Streets? Feminist perspectives on (forms of) protest

Social protests, i.e. collective expressions of dissatisfaction and/or dissent with certain social developments or political decisions, are currently taking place all over the world in a wide variety of forms and are voicing a wide range of demands more or less loudly. Whether they are demands for more democracy and human rights, greater social equality, more widespread climate protection, Corona policies or peace, the common characteristic is their desire for change or overcoming the existing conditions. Current protest movements in Iran, China, South America, Germany and the rest of the world do not stop at national borders. Forms of protest that are popular and adopted in many parts of the world, such as the current ecological[1] and feminist[2] movements, are trying to stop exploitation, violence, discrimination and annihilation worldwide.

We want to work together to explore how such protest formations are understood in the context of capitalist relations of production[3], i.e. how the production and organisation of goods and services is divided up in our society: Which protests are characterised here by a ‚too much at the same time and too uncoordinated‘ or a ‚too little and too quiet‘? What role should and must protest take on the streets? What is the role of institutions like parliaments? And how should protests from the right or from authoritarian and anti-democratic milieus be viewed? Do current social protests offer enough imagination and democratic resistant energy to counter the current war and crisis situations with a utopian counter-vision, i.e. an ideal image of a just society? The upcoming programme of the AK Feministische Theorien (Working Group on Feminist Theories) offers such questions and many more a space for reflection, questions, discussion and action.

Would you like to participate with a topic/format of your choice? Then send us a message by 31.12.2022 outlining your planned event title, topic, schedule and financial requirements (preferably in the form of an announcement text, but a very brief outline that you can elaborate on later will also suffice). We, AK Fem – Arbeitskreis für feministische Theorie und Praxis – will then take care of the organisation, promotion and financing of the events. The series of events should take place between 15 April and 15 May 2023.

So far in planning are already contributions on How-To Protest: How to register and run a protest; democracy and participation; climate activism and climate justice; current protests in China and street art as a form of protest. If you are interested in one of these topics, you are welcome to join the planning.
